About
Somatic Anatomy of Breathing Online
Course overview
This course will provide awareness of the fundamentals of thoracic mobility, the role of breathing in core stability and the practical application of cellular breathing in movement therapy and exercise prescription in rehabilitation. We will cover various experientials in the somatic movement environment to improve breath control and anxiety states, thoracic and lumbar spine mobility, pelvic floor function, breath capacity and core strength.
Tensegrity Training’s Somatic Anatomy practice series aims to increase your confidence as a therapist with guidelines and activities to learn anatomical terms and function, while learning to use your own body as the tool. This is the art of Embodiment.
You’ll enjoy a deeper knowledge of anatomy with the use of images, exercises, the felt-sense of touch and somatic sensation.
Participants will be provided with a manual of practical movement sequences/exercises they can use immediately with clients to work at a deeper, somatic level and achieve positive healing outcomes for clients.
Our experiential training courses in Somatic Anatomy will expand your experience of your own body exponentially and the outcomes will equip you in guiding your clients towards a more functional life, uninhibited by restraints of pain – whether physical or emotional.
Our state of being in life is evident through our breathing patterns. Our Somatic Anatomy of Breathing course teaches how to connect kinaesthetic awareness and structural anatomy of breathing to successfully embody and balance an individual’s capacity for full functional breathing.
To fully breathe is to fully engage with oneself and with the environment. Mindfulness and breath is the foundation of Relationship and health; and the process of connecting kinaesthic awareness and cognitive understanding is the pathway between conscious and unconscious thought and between self and other.
Why not enter the intimate world of experiential anatomy and movement where you will practice the art of the cells informing the brain and how the nervous system is informed from the body; and the role of sensory perception and motor cortex function on human behaviour.
We cannot understand how to work with clients’ bodies unless we truly understand our own functional nature.
