“….Caroline (Caz) broke the days up well with a balance of completing the
practical and theory components. She was very flexible in her delivery
and allowed us to ask questions are we went. She also made it specific
and relevant to our needs and experience level e.g. desire for more
Pelvic floor set up etc. We would have loved even more time with her,
the course was incredibly valuable. All team members at Tensegrity
have been very helpful and approachable to help with our questions and
enquiries. Thank You!…..”
Recognition
Of Prior Learning
Find out if your previous experience makes you eligible for RPL.
Are You Eligible For RPL?
The Tensegrity Training Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process recognises previous training received through other industry-based courses. Experienced and competent Pilates instructors and Movement Therapists may apply for RPL to formalise their qualifications.
Why Apply For RPL?
If you’ve completed a non-government accredited Pilates teacher training course or an industry-based Movement Therapy training program, you may be eligible to apply to Tensegrity Training for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). A formal qualification is significantly more beneficial for your resumé and will open doors and job opportunities that you may not otherwise have been considered for.
Those who have completed non-government accredited training can apply to gain the Nationally Recognised 11053NAT Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology and/or 52855WA Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology or the 11068NAT Graduate Diploma of Somatics and Dance Movement Therapy.
The 52855WA Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology is a pre-requisite for entry to 11053NAT Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology.
Any students who wish to undertake the Diploma must hold the 52855WA Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology or provide evidence of an existing Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology via the RPL process.
How Much Does RPL cost?
The application fees for RPL are:
- $850 for the Graduate Diploma (11068NAT)
- $850 for the Integrated Diploma (11053NAT)
- $500 for the Certificate IV (52855WA)
Additional costs may be involved based on your experience and the ‘gaps’ between your previous training and the course(s) you would like to obtain by RPL.
We find gaps are most commonly in the areas of marketing *(CPLMAR401) which is a key Unit of Competency in the Certificate IV and Somatics *(NAT11053009) which is a Unit of Competency in the Diploma.
What Steps Are Required To Start The RPL Process ?
Each RPL candidate is assessed for suitability on a ‘case by case’ basis.
- An RPL application and fee are to be submitted, including any documentation of previous qualification(s) and experience.
- Candidates are interviewed and their existing knowledge is assessed.
- The candidate must provide evidence of their ability to competently undertake a range of contemporary exercises from the Pilates exercise repertoire in a Pilates studio/workplace.
- The candidate must provide evidence of having instructed at least 2 different client groups in a Pilates environment. The instruction of clients will need to have been undertaken over a period of time and include examples of Matwork, equipment and small apparatus programming and delivery.
- A statutory declaration must be submitted confirming 200 hours of work experience in a Pilates Studio and 150 hours of personal practice to satisfy all requirements for attainment of 11053NAT Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology.
